Heartbreaking news has surfaced from the wrestling worldformer ROH and MLW star Julius Smokes has revealed that his wife, Mia Joy Bell, has passed away unexpectedly.
In a statement posted online, Smokes shared that Mia died on April 20, 2025, while at the Bainbridge Nursing Home. Now, in the wake of her sudden passing, he and his family are turning to the wrestling community for help.
On April 20 2025 My Beloved Wife Mia Joy Bell Unexpectedly Passed Away at the Bainbridge Nursing Home, Smokes wrote. Our family is completely devastated by her sudden lose. At this time Im reaching out to My family, Friends & sports entertainment/pro wrestling community to give her a proper Funeral Service. Any amount would be a blessing and very appreciated. Thank You From The Bottom Of My Heart!!!!!
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with funeral costs, and support has already begun to pour in from fellow wrestlers, fans, and those whove crossed paths with Smokes throughout his career.
Known for his energy and charisma during his time with Ring of Honor and Major League Wrestling, Julius Smokes now faces one of the toughest moments of his life outside the ring.
