Stokely Hathaway is officially backand hes riding with FTR.
After nearly six months off TV, Hathaway made his return on the April 24 episode of AEW Dynamite, stepping out alongside Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler to manage the former tag champs as they launch into a full heel run. Fans whove been wondering where hes been just got their answerand it turns out this pairing has been in the works for a while.
According to backstage sources vai Fightful Select, the idea of Hathaway managing FTR was first pitched last year. Before he disappeared from AEW programming, Hathaway was seen scouting tag teams, including being spotted in the background of an FTR match during one of his vignettes. This wasnt some sudden pivotthis storyline was nearly finalized months ago.
Plans reportedly shifted when The Outrunners gained momentum. AEW decided to lean into their popularity at the time, delaying Hathaways involvement with FTR. But now, with the timing right and FTR embracing a darker edge, the company is ready to revisit the original creative direction.
So far, Hathaway hasnt spoken publicly about his returnbut his presence immediately raised eyebrows. The alliance gives FTR another mouthpiece, and puts Hathaway right back in the center of a top-tier storyline.
