WrestleMania 41 surprised fans when TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was revealed as Randy Ortons mystery opponent and was quickly beaten. Hendry also popped up on the April 22nd episode of NXT and now the possibility of WWE buying out Joe Hendrys contract has been revealed.
While speaking during a Q&A session on Sportkseeda Wrestlebinge, WrestleVotes was asked if Joe Hendrys contract would be bought out by WWE. WrestleVotes noted that it could definitely happen, and he would be surprised if Hendry remained a TNA-contracted talent for much longer this year.
According to WrestleVotes, Hendry is on track to become a mainstay in WWE soon, especially since WWE is already producing his merchandise. He also pointed out that Hendry being Randy Ortons opponent is a strong indication that the company sees potential in him. WrestleVotes says its only a matter of time before Hendry officially becomes a WWE Superstar.
This comes after a report from Cory of PWNexus, who added another interesting twist about WWEs plans for Joe Hendry: Ive been informed that there is a pitch for John Cena and Travis Scott to team up for a tag match sometime this year. Nothing is confirmed yet, but the idea is being discussed.
It is also to be noted that Joe Hendrys TNA contract will expire sometime within the next 12 months. He now has an agent, and WWE has shown ongoing interest in him. Therefore, we will have to wait and see whether Hendry will end up becoming a proper WWE Superstar before this year ends.
Do you think Joe Hendry is ready to become a permanent WWE Superstar? Should WWE buy out his TNA contract now or let it expire naturally? Wed love to hear your thoughtsdrop a comment and join the conversation!
