The Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas was ready for a big show as WWE brought their April 25 episode of SmackDown to the venue. There were a lot of things left to take care of after the WrestleMania fallout, and that also included a big match for the tag team titles.
On the April 25 episode of WWE SmackDown, The Street Profits defended the WWE Tag Team Championship in a TLC match. Their challengers were DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns, and all three teams wanted to send a message.
This match closed out the show, and fans got all the action. The final hour of the show this week was commercial-free. Naturally, all three teams brought it in a big way to this match.
There were a ton of high spots, and a lot of weapons being used. Montez Ford took three dives throughout the early portion of the match, with the third dive going through a table that Tommaso Ciampa was on.
This was a brutal war, as nobody even tried to climb a ladder toward the titles while they all fought on. There were a ton of brutal spots, including Ciampa landing a White Noise through a ladder that was bridged from ringside on Angelo Dawkins. That wasnt even enough to settle things, as Motor City Machine Guns stopped Gargano from climbing up. Then the MCMG hit a Skull & Bones through a table on Gargano at ringside.
Tommaso Ciampa almost had the belts, but the Motor City Machine Guns pulled the ladder away. Ciampa hung on, and they beat him with chairs like a human piata until Dawkins nailed a spear off a ladder through a table. This was a brutal spot.
In the end, Chris Sabin and Johnny Gargano were fighting on top of the ladder. Montez Ford was lodged in the ladder, but he climbed up to knock both challengers down. Then Ford grabbed the titles to retain.
We will have to see how they plan to top this big main event match in Fort Worth, Texas. Obviously, they left everything on the table this time as the WWE Universe recovered from a historic WrestleMania 41 event.
