Rasmus Hojlund struck in stoppage-time for Manchester United as the Red Devils earned a point at Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.
Ruben Amorim opted against resting key players for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday, with five changes being made from the makeshift XI which lost to Wolves last weekend.
Man Utd's start was controlled enough, and they created the two best chances before a shoddy build-up sequence allowed the astute pressers of Bournemouth to pounce. Within moments of Adam Smith dispossessing Patrick Dorgu deep in the United half, Antoine Semenyo thumped home the opening goal of the contest.
The Red Devils struggled in the aftermath before Alejandro Garnacho drew a good save out of Kepa Arrizabalaga from an attempted lob.
A spell of Bournemouth pressure greeted the visitors at the start of the second half, but the Cherries failed to extend their advantage and the contest threatened to shift after Evanilson was harshly sent off following VAR intervention for his challenge on Noussair Mazraoui.
United's pressure was relentless in the closing stages as they sought to rescue a point, and after Mason Mount, Chido Obi and Bruno Fernandes all came close, the previously anonymous Rasmus Hojlund instinctively poked home the equaliser deep into stoppage-time.
It's a point that means little for the Red Devils, who are now poised to watch Liverpool claim their second Premier League title.
