Sarayas comeback story almost never happenedand she credits her father, Ricky Knight, for saving her life when she was at her absolute lowest.
In her conversation with Andro Mammo, Saraya shared how a personal scandal once pushed her to the brink. I was in Texas. I was just sitting there. I was this close. I was like, Im so mortified, Im so embarrassed, Im so humiliated, like, this is the last straw. I cannot do this anymore. I dont want to be around.
Her greatest fear was letting her father down. I said to myself, Okay, if my dad or my family, but mostly my dad, if hes disappointed in me, thats it. Im done. Eventually, after ignoring call after call, Saraya finally answered the phone. Im so sorry, Dad. Im so sorry, she cried.
What she heard next changed her life forever. He goes, Princess, everythings gonna be okay. Its just sex, and everybody does it. Youre doing what every other human has been doing. Dont feel shame. I love you. Im proud of you, and he even joked, Maybe you might get more famous like Kim Kardashian. Saraya laughed, replying, How the fck do you know Kim Kardashian?*
Her fathers message stuck with her. In that moment, he taught me not to take it too seriously, Saraya said. If you can change it, why are you stressing? If you cant change it, why are you stressing?
Today, Saraya is in a completely different place. Im happy with where my life is. Im happy with who I am. It took me a long time to figure that out, she shared. Shes using her platform to help others, proudly joining the board of the National Domestic Violence Hotline and planning a book tour for Hell in Boots.
Sarayas story is proof that even in your darkest moment, one voice of love and support can change everything.
