Theklas next move could be even bigger than expected and WWE might be first in line to sign her.
The Austrian star officially wrapped up her run with STARDOM and is leaving Japan behind. After making a major name for herself overseas, Thekla hired professional representation to guide her next steps and is now U.S. bound. Sources say several American promotions are already showing interest in her but WWE could have the strongest shot.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed WWEs long-standing interest. WWEs been after her for years and years and years, Meltzer said, explaining that WWE had previously tried to sign other top Japanese stars too. They tried to get IYO, Kairi and Mayu Iwatani years ago. Meltzer also pointed out that IYO SKYs recent success in WWE might have tipped the scales, adding, IYO doing so well probably encouraged her to go.
Theklas exit from STARDOM came as a surprise to many fans, as she had been a featured part of the promotions international roster. Now, with her time in Japan over, shes making it clear shes ready for the next major chapter of her career and it looks like the United States is calling.
This isnt the first time Thekla hinted at a move to America, either. Back in November 2024, she spoke with Grapsodys Righteous Reg and Phil Lindsey and teased a possible trip to the U.S. very soon.
With WWE renewing their push to sign international talent and Thekla freshly available, it could just be a matter of time before she shows up under the WWE banner.
