Buddy Matthews competed in a big match at AEW Grand Slam: Australia, but he hurt his ankle during his entrance before the match even started. Its been a few months since then, and now hes shared when he expects to return to the ring.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Buddy Matthews was asked about his current condition after his injury. Matthews admitted he rolled his ankle badly and tests showed no broken bones, but he did suffer a partial ligament tear and cartilage damage.
Matthews is currently walking but hasnt started running or jumping yet. He recently added some cardio to his routine, though the ankle still stiffens up afterwards. Doctors were surprised he didnt completely shatter the bones, given how much the ankle rolled. Despite the injury, he still wrestled a 15-minute match that night.
As for his return to the squared circle, Matthews said hes aiming to be back in the next couple of weeks. He still needs to test things out in the ring and get back in shape. Right now, he believes hes about 85 percent ready.
Buddy Matthews is still recovering from his injury, but hes staying positive and getting closer to returning to AEW. In the meantime, fans are excited to see him come back and prove himself, as he clearly wants a solid run in AEW this year.
